MaryAnn

Album Reviews "What an amazing album!!!! MaryAnn, sings with so much honesty and genuine emotion - you can hear it on every song. This woman really cares about what she is singing . Her wonderful, rich , full bodied voice completely draws you in to her world. The songs on the album really touched me - particularly, 'Life (Thank You)' with its terrific chorus and very strong emotional delivery, the title track 'Transparent World' - very powerful, strong delivery , the playful 'Hips, Lips and Eyes' to the very classic, sophisticated 'Rosebud' - so many wonderful songs! Shakespeare wrote 'If music be the food of love, play on...' so MaryAnn, please, PLAY ON! Thank You!!!" - Thomas Browne

“Back for another round of MARYANN ! A wistful, dreamy, blissful, etheric sound — Excellent songwriting, thoughtful lyrics! For me, I hear stylistic elements of Pink Floyd, Traffic, Dylan, & Phil Spector. A richly textured, thoroughly original & pleasing sound. Saxophone put to very good use. Cheers !” -
MARKKE/singer song writer,  “Good day to you, shining star! ain't no sunshine, like yours. A treasure far beyond reverb. All my best,

Laurence Turner: 'The Bad and Boujee State of Indie Rock' By LFR - London Fields Radio

New show by LFR - London Fields Radio

Laurence Turner: 'The Bad and Boujee State of Indie Rock'

Earlier on in the year, David Longstreth of Dirty Projectors took to Instagram to begin a discussion about whether Indie Rock had 'gone bad'. The question resonated with me, as it was something I'd been debating in my head for a while.

What interested me in the responses was how quick so many music news sources were to dismiss the notion. What did they have to be defensive about?

In this show, we listen to music by all the musicians that weighed in on instagram, here what news outlets had to say about the discussion and listen to some examples of what was posited as contemporary examples of good quality indie rock.

With music from:
-Grizzly Bear
-Whitney
-Mount Eerie
-Waxahatchee
-Fleet Foxes
