The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) today released a report on the financial impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the African music sector over March and April.
The report predominantly captures the financial impact of the pandemic on music professionals since the outbreak of the virus and introduction of restrictions on the broader African continent from about 1 March 2020. It also provides an overview of the immediate needs of affected practitioners, while anticipating further impact and offering useful tips and recommendations from industry operators.
The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) was established in 2013 and registered in 2014 as a non-profit organisation, registered in terms of the South African Nonprofit Organisations Act, No. 71 of 1997. Our mandate is to support the African music sector, particularly musicians, by creating and sharing opportunities for them to learn, exchange, develop and promote their careers.

Join the CBAA in sending an online thank you to these volunteers as well as a big welcome to the new ones donating time to community broadcasting. #NVW2020

Get more Australian music and support local acts
South Australian hip hop trio East AV3 formed in high school and in the past year have shown they have what it takes by way of crafty and cheeky rhymes with funk-fused beats.
The young rappers are part of the new force of Australian music making waves, so it's great to have them on board for this week's Australian Music Is Bloody Great.
Hear what's happening in Australian sounds from the best ears to the ground each Friday through the Community Radio Network.
