Asia Sky Gillam is a singer/songwriter that was born on May 11, 1992. She is the middle child of three children to her parents, Nikki and Curtis Gillam Sr. Asia has lived in various locations including, Maryland, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Suffolk, England, located about an hour and a half north of London, where she grew up and graduated high school.
Asia Sky developed a love for music at the young age of three. She became fascinated by the sound of the piano and had a burning desire to learn how to play. Destined to become familiar with the amazing musical tool, Asia Sky decided to learn on her own by listening to different sounds and trying to play them. In sixth grade, Asia began to play clarinet in her school's concert band. By ninth grade, she was the section leader in her school's marching band.
Shortly after Asia turned 15, she lost her mother to leukemia. Because her mother was also trying to follow her dreams as a singer around the time of her death, it inspired Asia to take her own singing seriously and sing openly. Singing was a talent she hid from her mother, because, as a young teenager, she was too embarrassed to sing, when her mother's voice was so great.
Asia began modeling, and entered into various Talent Shows and plays, where she received many great reviews. She sung at many school events, including her high school graduation. By the end of her senior year of high school, she was voted "Most Talented."
It wasn’t until Asia turned 18 that everything started to change for her. When she met Jamel “Barewolf” Payne of Major Sound Music Group and Anthony Davis of Jamzone Management, together they have molded Asia into an outstanding Pop Artist.
Asia has interviewed with DIG Magazine, a prestigious magazine out of Baton Rouge, La, She is the Featured artist on “The Fantasy Tour”, and is currently working on her first solo album. There is a world of things to come to from Asia Sky, this is only the beginning.
