Happy New Year

Happy New Year! On behalf of the CBAA we wish you all a warm welcome to the New Year. We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season and is ready to take on the year ahead. 2022 has some incredible opportunities instore for the CBAA and our members. Including our postponed 2021 Conference to be held in Cairns 24-26 March. We will also launch the Community Radio Plus App soon, and as it is the 50th Anniversary of community radio, it will be a fun-filled year. We look forward to continuing our championing community radio and the heroes that make them possible.

Graduate Destination Survey

The CMTO are calling on graduates of their training programs to complete a short survey in order to assist with their quality assurance processes, ongoing course development, and a national community broadcasting research project conducted in partnership with the Griffith University Centre for Social and Cultural Research to explore the link between community media training and creative industries careers.Complete the survey now.

BankWest and Curtin University

WA Leaders Scholarship 2022

BankWest and Curtin University, in partnership with the Australian Scholarships Foundation, have launched a scholarship opportunity to support those living in Western Australia working for not-for-profit organisations. Offering 20 full-fee scholarships to undertake either the Graduate Certificate in Project Management or the Graduate Certificate in Business at Curtin University in 2022. Applications close 20 February 2022. Apply now.

What's Happening in Community Radio?
The CBAA is thrilled to announce in December 2021, our very own CEO Jon Bisset was inducted into the Associations Hall of Fame for his contribution to community radio.Positive Media has announced the departure of CEO Jarrod Graetz after 12 years in the role. Graetz has a wealth of achievements including the launch of three new media brands under the banner of Positive Media.Graetz says the last 12 years “have been some of the richest and fulfilling of his life” and thanked listeners, supporters, staff, and volunteers for their support during his time as CEO. We wish Jared all the best and look forward to seeing what he does next.

2022 Theme Announced

'Get up! Stand up! Show up! Has been announced as the 2022 NAIDOC theme The theme symbolises the ongoing need to fight for justice and equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples. As well as celebrate the many who have driven and led change in communities across the country. ​​​​​​Read more on this year's theme, and how you can get involved.
